Which Style Fits You as a Couple?

Browse 6 styles. Pick the one that matches your song, your personality, and your comfort level.

Viennese Waltz: Elegant & Light

Sweeping and cinematic. We simplify it into beginner patterns so you get the look without the years of training.

Rumba: Romantic & Smooth

Slow, close, intimate. Works with almost any love song. The most popular first dance style we teach, and the easiest to look good in.

Foxtrot: Classic & Classy

Relaxed, polished, works with a wide range of tempos. If you want to look like you have done this before, Foxtrot is your best bet.

East Coast Swing: Fun & Swaggy

For couples who want energy over elegance. Playful, natural to lead, and guaranteed to get your guests on their feet.

Hustle: Free & Upbeat

Sharp and dynamic. Strong choice if your song has a modern or R&B feel and you want a dance that gets the room going.

Tango: Dramatic & Powerful

Dramatic, precise, and unforgettable in photos. The hardest style on this list, but the most visually powerful by far.

FAQ

Have questions before you book?

Here are quick answers to what couples ask most often. If you don’t see your question, book a free consultation and we’ll talk through your song, timeline, and goals.

How early should we start?

Of course, the more time you give yourself to learn, practice, and pefect, the better your chances will be to have a seamless performance. So, we recommend booking your package as early as possible, to get as many reps in as you can. Lesson-wise, you want to schedule them so that you have ample time to work on what you're learning, but not enough time between your last lesson and your wedding to forget it. Once we find out your date, we help you book your lessons accordingly.

We have zero dance experience. Will this still work?

Yes! TwoToTango is beginner-friendly - that's basically what we're made for. You’ll learn at your own pace! Your instructors will gauge your experience level during the intro call and set up a plan perfect for you.

Is learning online as productive as in person?

While we of course lose out on the ability to physically interact with our students, we find it sometimes better to teach online, because it accelerates independent ability in our couples. Of course, the convenience is also a plus. But, don't worry - if after your process you still want some in person help, we partner with many studios across the country to deliver you that extra bit of instruction you might want.

Which package should we choose?

This is a question we receive often. People ask us to be honest and recommend a package. The answer is what you might expect: of course, we recommend the highest package, with as many additional lessons on top of it as you can do, because like absolutely anything that you learn, more reps = more skill, especially when the reps are guided. However, we understand that not everyone can afford to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a wedding dance given all the rest they're paying for, so we fully believe that all of our packages will get you to a place where you'll be confident and proud of your dance.

Our dance floor is small/is an unorthodox material, can we still do a wedding dance?

Of course! We would help you pick an appropriate dance and point you towards steps to favor and steps to stay away from to stay inside your perimiter. Same goes for material.

Can you help us pick a song and style?

While we wholeheartedly recommend that the final song decision be yours, we can offer assistance with brainstorming and gently guide you towards a final choice that you'll love. Once that's done, we totally help with the dance style selection.

What if our wedding is soon?

We’ll streamline the plan: choose one style, a short routine, and a couple of photogenic moments. Add a coaching session if you can. The goal is a clean, confident first dance that feels natural—no stress.

My dress has a long train. Will this be an issue?

Not at all! We’ll help you choose movements and steps that work beautifully with a long train, and we’ll show you simple adjustments so you feel comfortable, confident, and elegant on the dance floor. Many couples dance with long trains — it just becomes part of the look, not a limitation. (But if you can bussle, bussle!)

What if one of us learns faster than the other?

This is very common - no two people learn the same way. We've done trial and error for years to come up with a perfect plan that accomodates for this. However, as the faster learner, you will naturally have to slow down a bit and be patient with your partner as they move along. Remember - they want this to be good just as much as you do!

I really want to do this, but I don't think my fiancƩe will.

We've seen this often. If you truly believe this, we suggest reaching out to us to book a free consultation call, and write this as the reason. We will do our best to convince them (it usually works!). Also, if you choose the silver package, you can learn the steps from pre-recorded videos yourself, and then teach it to your partner without the commitment of an actual lesson - that way, its fun for both.

What if we’re nervous or feel awkward dancing together?

It's actually more surprising when you're not. This is one of our specialties: we take two people who are afraid of performing and don't believe in their ability to impress a room full of guests with their wedding dance, and we leave them as confident dancers who are excited to showcase what they've learned. Don't worry!

How much space do we need at home?

Not much! A small living room, bedroom, or open area works perfectly. We also provide tips for practicing in limited spaces.

Do I need different shoes for my dance?

While we recommend certain style dance shoes for the most perfect and smooth experience, you can totally do most of this in whatever shoes you're wearing at your wedding. Our instructors have seen it all, so just share your shoe style, and we will plan accordingly.

What if we are very different in height/weight?

Again, not a problem at all. Of course, some very specific steps might be better for specific physical combinations of partners, but most of this you can do with any partner of any size. Your instructors will help you pick steps and tricks that suit you best!

Is this only for slow dances?

Not at all! Some people think all wedding dances need to be slow-paced and intimate - if that's your cup of tea, great! If not, great! We offer a variety of styles and approaches to help you find EXACTLY the vibe you're looking for.

Can same-sex couples use this program?

Absolutely. Our instruction is universal and adaptable to all couples and partnership dynamics.
